About Us
Shapeero/Murray is a new Gallery run by artists Beth Shapeero and Andy Murray.  Initiated out of a response to the current funding climate and lack of financial stability for the majority of artists working in Scotland, ShapeeroMurray seek opportunities to connect with markets and create more sustainable futures for artists.
As Beth Shapeero and Andy Murray are artists themselves, they operate from inside the art scene, bringing a unique level of understanding of making art 
and producing exhibitions; the day to 
day of what it means to be an artist. 
Their positioning within the roots of 
the art scene also brings access to underrepresented artists other galleries 
do not reach.

Shapeero/Murray’s mission is to develop 
a platform to support artists who are producing the most compelling work, helping them reach markets they are otherwise unable to access and supporting them through this most challenging time.  They seek to challenge the status quo and hierarchical nature of the commercial art scene from the inside, making a stand for fairer and more equal spreading of resources and capital.  They are committed to recognising real talent and commitment in artists and making sure these remarkable workers maintain autonomy and can continue to thrive.
