Kirsty Lackie
Kirsty Lackie (b.1989) is an artist based in Glasgow. Her practice is drawing and painting where she primarily uses acrylics and oil pastel. The work celebrates a world of surrealist storytelling and absurdity, where undertones of irony and tragi-comedy flicker beneath a seemingly frivolous surface.

Lackie was commissioned to make two large paintings for Beata Heuman’s new Hôtel de La Boétie (Paris, 2023). She had her debut solo show at The Alchemy Experiment (Glasgow, 2022). She has exhibited in group shows across the U.K., most recently with Among The Pines (London, 2023), That Art Gallery (Bristol, 2022), and Arc (Painswick, 2022). In 2018 she was awarded the Cromarty Arts Trust Student Residency Award and in the same year shortlisted for The Glasgow School of Art’s prestigious Newbery Medal.
